The 2019 Lion Tamer Cabernet and Red Blend, and the 2021 Panthera Chardonnay are ready to be added to your collection.
Cabernet Sauvignon grown in northeastern Napa Valley, backed by Mountain Malbec and Petite Sirah. Made to explore the relationships between Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Veeder, and the valley floor.
“With 10% Malbec and 5% Petite Sirah, this is a dark, jammy and richly layered red, offering smoked meat, graphite and black olive. Lengthy, it is soft and supple on the palate.” — Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast
The 2019 vintage of our Lion Tamer Cabernet is rated 91 points from Wine Enthusiast.
Our cellar door overlooks some of the best spots to grow Cabernet on Mount Veeder. But we’ve found over the years that there are microclimates and certain vineyard sites that are not the right environment for Cabernet. They are right for Malbec.
This Red Blend is an homage to the bold (and sometimes unusual) varietals grown in Napa. Malbec, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Carignan. Each varietal plays its part in this wine. Mouthwatering and round. Blueberry pie, tobacco. Full bodied with the softest tannins.
The 2019 vintage of our Lion Tamer Red Blend is rated 92 points from Wine Spectator.
Poise and grace, in a glass.
Plantings in Russian River Valley give this Chardonnay brightness and vibrance. Aging in French oak gives it a confident edge of vanilla, nutmeg, and cream. Like homemade lemon curd spread over a toasted brioche bun. Fresh from a patisserie.
This wine continues to be stunning, year after year.
