Behind The Name

In this vertical for Lion Tamer Cabernet Sauvignon, there is a missing year. Marked by wildfires and sacrificed harvests, the 2020 vintage was difficult for Napa Valley. Skipped vintages feel like lost opportunities, especially for young vintners and growers.

There’s an old English nursery rhyme for the superstitious counting of magpies or crows which begins with the line ‘One for sorrow, two for joy’.

If 2020 was one year for sorrow, then 2019 and 2021 were certainly two for joy.
