FROM THE WINEMAKER
“Made with fruit sourced from among the most unique AVAs in Sonoma County, Moon Mountain, this Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the essence of this appellation located on the eastern edge of Sonoma County known for steep slopes and high elevation. More recently established in 2013, the Moon Mountain AVA delivers wines that are characterized by deep, dark fruit qualities with subtle hints of cocoa and lavendar. Our 2018 Moon Mountain Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon presents with violet and baking spice on the nose, leading to a palate with intense, rich flavors of blackberry compote, dark chocolate, and hints of sweet oak followed by integrated tannins.”

VINTAGE NOTES
Each vintage presents a unique set of conditions, and we approach every year ready to face the challenge. For vintage 2018, budbreak began on schedule at the end of February, and spring brought moderate temperatures that progressed into a warm summer without any disruptive heat spikes. Steady growing conditions continued through Harvest, which began in mid-September for the white varieties. We continued picking our red varieties long into the first weeks of November. With such lengthy hang time, the fruit matured consistently and was picked at its peak, promising exceptional flavor in bottle.
