*After you place an online order to AL, we will contact you with the location of the nearest ABC store to your home address for pickup. If you have a preferred ABC store, you may include this information in the Order Notes at checkout.

State laws do not allow direct shipments of alcohol to residents in this state. Instead, we are allowed to ship wines to a “3-tier” distributor who will in turn ship to you. 3-tier shipments are sent on a schedule every 2-6 weeks, and once shipped, orders take approximately 10 days to arrive. Tracking info does not activate until the package reaches the distributor location in your state.

SHIPPING COST AND METHODS

Shipping charges and carriers are calculated at checkout based on your destination. To get an accurate shipping estimate, add items to your cart and select your destination state from the dropdown menu. We use FedEx services primarily, and can ship via UPS upon request, where allowed.

For more control over your shipment, we recommend using FedEx Delivery Manager to enable package redirection, temporary holds, dropoff scheduling, alternate dropoff locations and more. More information on this service can be found at the FedEx website.

WEATHER EXTREMES

In cases of extreme hot or cold weather, orders may be held to ensure your wines are not damaged in transit. If there is an active weather hold in your region, we will contact you to advise on the expected delay.

TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED SHIPPING

For the warm weather season, temperature-controlled shipping aka FedEx Cold Chain, starts shipping to southern states in May or June. This shipping method transports and stores your wine at a stable 55-degree temperature until it reaches one of five hub stations throughout the United States. The southern route is Dallas, Atlanta and Orlando, and the northern route is Chicago and Newark. From the hub, FedEx Overnight Service picks up the shipment for overnight delivery to you.

To a business address, delivery is scheduled before 10:30 AM. Residential addresses, delivery is before 12:00 PM. Shipments leave California on a Friday and are delivered to Midwest states by Tuesday and East Coast states by Wednesday. We appreciate your patience, as FedEx Cold Chain can take up to three weeks for delivery.

DELIVERY INFORMATION & RESTRICTIONS

Fulfillment: Most orders are fulfilled within 1-3 business days. Some exceptions may apply, including 3-tier distribution states (Ohio and New Jersey). During high-volume periods such as sales or during the holidays, orders may be delayed at fulfillment.

Shipping: Ground shipping typically arrives in 3-10 days depending on your delivery location. During peak season our carriers can also experience delays in transit.

Legal Compliance: All orders are checked to ensure we are compliant with laws at your destination. State laws prohibit delivery of alcohol to hotels, motels, or on-sale licensed facilities outside of California. We are unable to ship alcohol to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS

All wine shipments require a signature of an adult 21 years of age or older. Notes with a signature left for the delivery companies cannot be accepted as a replacement for a delivery signature. If you are unable to receive your order during the day, we encourage you to consider shipping to an office or other location where adult signature can be obtained during regular business hours. If shipper is unable to obtain signature at initial delivery they will try again up to 3 times.

Alternatively, many customers have found it convenient to ship directly to a FedEx hold location. Once the package arrives, it will be held there for 5 business days.

SHIPMENT TRACKING

Where online tracking is available, we will include a tracking link in your shipment confirmation email. Tracking may take up to 2 business days to become active, and the tracking ID included in this email is the best source for all shipping updates.

RETURN POLICIES

Your satisfaction is our top priority and we stand behind the quality of our wines. Items that are damaged or not to your satisfaction will be replaced. Should you request a refund within 30 days of purchase, we may require you to seal and return the unused wine in order to qualify for a refund, less a 15% restocking fee.
