We have a style in mind for our Treo blend, and this year Petite Sirah made up the backbone of the blend joined the mix of Syrah, Zinfandel, Merlot and a hint of Malbec resulting in a wine that is rich and full of flavor.

“The art of blending is part of the winemaker's craft, an exercise that often proves the sum of the parts is a delicious outcome. Each year we select flavorful lots with a supple style in mind for our Treo blend. This year Petite Sirah made up the backbone, flanked by a mix of Zinfandel, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvginon, with a touch of Merlot and Carignan. The result is a wine that is rich and full of flavor. The aromas beckon for a delicious barbeque, with notes of bing cherry and pomegranate lifting from the glass. On the mouth, bold, dark bramble fruit flavors lead to plush notes of blueberry on the long, pleasant finish. The tannins are soft and easy drinking - we craft this blend to ensure the wine is accessible when you decide to open the bottle. Maybe that’s why it’s become so popular. Enjoy!”

Vintage 2020 began with a slow start due to a cool, mild growing season. Heat spells in August and September accelerated ripening and fruit development right on time. These temperature spikes led us to pick our white varieties slightly earlier than normal, and to bring in some of our red varieties sooner than in past years. Wide-spread fires in the North and Central Coast regions marked the remainder of the season, however the fruit for our Pinot Gris was picked well before the fires and away from the impacted regions. To best maintain the integrity of our wines, we chose to vinify only the fruit that met our exacting luxury standards and that would deliver exceptional flavor in bottle.
